Resources and services we recommend to our puppy families.
We're Chuck and Claudia Holt, and we raise Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies in our home in Lancaster, PA — not in a kennel, not in a barn. Our puppies grow up underfoot, in the middle of family life, with children and noise and everyday comings and goings. By the time a puppy goes home with you, being part of a family is all he has ever known.
We're a small breeding program, so we don't have a shelf of puppies ready to go. Most of ours are reserved before they're born. That's worth knowing up front — if you're looking for a puppy this weekend, we probably aren't the right fit. If you're willing to wait for the right one, we'd love to talk with you.
Pricing depends on the litter, and we'll always tell you the price plainly before you commit to anything. A $600 deposit reserves your place. It's refundable for 48 hours, and it goes toward your puppy's price — it isn't an extra fee.
There are two ways to wait. The free waitlist simply means we let you know when a puppy is available — no payment, no obligation. The priority waitlist is the $600 deposit, and it moves you up the list so you're matched sooner.
We should be honest with you: our waitlist is currently full into spring of 2027. We'd still encourage you to reach out. Plans change, litters shift, and we'd rather know what your family is hoping for than have you wonder.
We keep our puppies until ten weeks rather than eight. Those two extra weeks with their mother and littermates make a real difference in confidence and settling — and they give us time to start crate training and potty basics so you're not beginning from zero.
You're welcome to come meet us in Lancaster. Most of our families visit, and we'd rather you saw where your puppy is being raised. We also serve families across Pennsylvania and the surrounding states, and we'll talk through travel with you.
Cavaliers were bred for centuries to be companions — not to guard, herd, or hunt. That's why they're gentle with children, sociable with other dogs, and happiest pressed up against the person they love. It's also why they don't do well left alone all day. If you'd like to understand the breed properly before you decide, our guide to Cavalier temperament covers the honest version — the hard parts included.
Many of the families we serve are caring for a child with autism, or living with trauma, anxiety, or special needs. That's not a marketing angle for us — it's our own family's story. If that's where you are, you may want to read about how we prepare puppies for special-needs families. We are not selling puppies. We are offering hope.
